Mäntylä is located about four kilometers from the city center, with good transport connections. You can easily travel to and from Mäntylä by bus, car, or bicycle.
Mäntylä is a well-regarded and peaceful area, especially popular with families and dog walkers. The area features excellent outdoor routes, a large sports field, a playground, and a dog park. In winter, there is an ice rink. The nearest beach is Oulunlahti Beach, located two kilometers away.
A convenience store is located next to Postipojankuja 3. Larger stores can be found in Limingantulli, about a 10-minute drive or a 20-minute bus ride away. On the Hiirosen side, there is a grocery store just a 5-minute drive or a 15-minute walk away. The local school is Lintulampi School.
