The nearest shops are in Malminkartano and less than a kilometer away in Myyrmäki, where the shopping center Myyrmann has, in addition to grocery stores, specialty stores, banking services, as well as cafes and restaurants. There is also a library next door. A good ten minutes’ drive from Honkasuo is also the shopping center Kaari in Helsinki’s Kannelmäki.
Nature is close to Honkasuu and there are plenty of outdoor trails around the area. Nearby is e.g. Malminkartanon peak, or Malminkartano filling hill, popular with fitness enthusiasts. In the sports park of Myyrmäki, about a kilometer away, you can enjoy a variety of different sports. The sports park has two ice rinks, an athletics field, a football stadium, a soccer hall and a ball hall in the Vantaan Energia arena. Myyrmäki also has a swimming hall with a gym.
