For a right-of-occupancy apartment in Helsinki, you don’t need a large mortgage. You pay a right-of-occupancy fee of up to 15% of the apartment’s purchase price. You can also apply for housing allowance from Kela for a right-of-occupancy apartment, similar to a rental apartment.

The Postipuisto residential area is being built with good transport connections and adjacent to Helsinki’s Central Park. A total of 94 right-of-occupancy apartments will be completed at Metsäläntie 10.

Get more space to live in a right-of-occupancy apartment
You can apply for a right-of-occupancy apartment when you have an ARA-issued right-of-occupancy order number.
Based on the order number, applicants are offered right-of-occupancy apartments that match their preferences. The right-of-occupancy number issued by ARA is valid for two years.
In right-of-occupancy apartments, you pay a one-time right-of-occupancy fee, which you get back when you move out, adjusted by the construction cost index. In a right-of-occupancy apartment, you pay a monthly maintenance fee and can stay in the apartment as long as you want.
