The right-of-occupancy buildings on Tulliportikatu are being completed in the Otsola residential area. The core center and its versatile services are about 1.5 kilometers away, and the nearest grocery store is about a kilometer away. A primary school and a high school are within walking distance. There are more schools and daycare centers in the downtown area. Local bus stops are a few hundred meters away.

Almost next door is the campus area of the University of Eastern Finland and the Mehtimäki sports park, which offers a versatile framework for practicing and watching sports. The area has e.g. swimming pool, ice rink, baseball stadium, Joensuu fitness oasis, Joensuu Areena, tennis hall, outdoor gym and sports field. Various events are also organized in the sports park. The Joensuu Science Park is also nearby.

Tulliportinkatu 9d consists of four- and five-story right-of-occupancy buildings A and C, each of which has one stairwell. The apartment options include several two-room and three-room apartments of different sizes, as well as a few four-room apartments. Most of the apartments have their own sauna.

The common spaces are located on the first floors of the buildings. Residents have use of the house laundry (in building C) and drying rooms, pram storage and apartment-specific movable storage. There is storage space for outdoor equipment in the cold storage room next to building A. The common courtyard of the block is being made comfortable to increase the play and sitting areas, which are shared by all the residents of the houses.
