The right-of-occupancy buildings at Tulliportinkatu 9d were completed in late November 2024 in the Otsola residential area. Tulliportinkatu 9d consists of four- and five-story right-of-occupancy buildings A and C, each with one stairwell.
The buildings have a total of 48 apartments, including several two- and three-room apartments of various sizes, as well as a few four-room apartments. Most of the apartments have their own sauna. Water consumption is measured per apartment. An advance payment for water is paid based on the number of people, which is adjusted according to consumption.
Common facilities are located on the first floors of the buildings. Residents have access to a laundry room (in building C) and drying rooms, stroller storage rooms, and apartment-specific storage rooms for personal belongings. There is storage space for outdoor equipment in the cold storage room next to Building A. To increase the comfort of the block’s common courtyard, play and recreation areas are being built, which are for the joint use of all residents of the buildings.
The new area of Tulliportti is being built into a communal residential area, with a small park in the middle. The city center and its diverse services are conveniently close, about 1.5 kilometers away. The nearest grocery store is about a kilometer away. There is a comprehensive school and upper secondary school within walking distance, and there are more schools and daycare centers in the city center area. Local bus stops are a few hundred meters away. Almost next door is the campus of the University of Eastern Finland and the Mehtimäki Sports Park, which offers a diverse setting for practicing and watching sports. The area has, among others, swimming pool, ice rink, baseball stadium, Joensuu fitness oasis, Joensuu Areena, tennis hall, outdoor gym and sports field.
