Electric car charging solutions

We support the development of electric transportation by offering our residents the opportunity to charge electric cars in their own yard. We are systematically installing multiple Type 2 charging stations at a time in our properties. Our aim is to install charging stations in the properties where the residents have expressed their needs and wishes to charge their vehicles in their own yard.

It is possible that you may have to wait for a Type 2 charging station for several months. During your wait, we are offering a temporary charging service where the structure of the heating pole is altered so that it can be used to charge electric cars.

How can I get a charging station for my electric car?

A TA charging station and the temporary charging service can be provided if we are the owners of the parking area and the electricity to the parking space is supplied through our electricity meter. A TA charging station can be ordered if you have an electric car. If your situation changes and you no longer need to charge an electric car, please let us know.

State your interest in a charging station by filling in this form and submit it to the property secretary of your building. The contact information of all property secretaries can be found here.

Charging stations are installed in a centralised manner

The charging stations are installed in a centralised manner, so the station may not be installed in your current parking space. The temporary charging service may also not be available in your parking space. The property secretary will help you if you need to change your parking space.

A Type 2 charging station may be installed in a parking space even if the person currently holding the space does not have an electric car or a plug-in hybrid car. In this case, the charging station is not used for charging a vehicle and the holder of the space is not charged any additional fees. However, the parking space becomes conditional. Conditionality means that, if you do not have an electric car, you are required to hand over the parking space equipped with a Type 2 charging station to a neighbour with an electric car, if necessary. In this case, we will arrange a new parking space for you. No one will be left without a parking space in this arrangement. We use the same principle in the case of the temporary charging service.

By doing so, we can provide electric car owners with a charging station or the temporary charging service and the person without an electric car can support sustainable development. This policy also promotes the appropriate use of heating poles and the electrical system. If there are fewer parking spaces than there are apartments in the building and you have to wait for a parking space, electric car owners are not placed at the front of the queue, however.

Charging of electric cars always requires an agreement

When we have installed a Type 2 charging station, the property secretary will provide you with an agreement about the use of the charging station for signing. After this, you can claim the parking space with the eParking app according to the instructions provided.

Temporary charging is only available if an agreement has been signed. If you need the temporary charging service, make an agreement with the property secretary. Once the agreement is signed, the structure of your heating pole will be altered and a label is attached to the pole. The label shows the property manager and other residents that an agreement about the charging solution has been made.

What types of charging solutions do you offer?

Our charging solutions use either Ensto One 3.6 kW or Harju Elekter A5 11 kW chargers. The type of charger used depends on the property’s electricity network and the availability of chargers. All chargers can be operated with the eParking app for smartphones. The charging stations do not come with a fixed cable, and you need to acquire one yourself. Block heater cables must also be acquired by residents.

More information about the charging solutions:

  • Single-phase charging max 3.6 kW and three-phase charging max. 11 kW.
  • Type 2 socket for charging electric cars.
  • 16A socket with a timer for block heaters with Ensto One charger. The timer for Elekter A5 sockets can be found in the eParking app.
  • MID energy meter for invoicing the electricity used for charging.
  • The Ensto One charger does not require a key. The lower cover of the case can be opened without a key. A key for the Elekter A5 charger is delivered to the holder of the parking space.
  • The charging stations are equipped with smart power control.

Smart charging station

A standard Type 2 connector is used in the charging of electric cars. The smart charging station can detect how many electric cars are being charged at any time. If necessary, the station will limit the power output to the chargers so that the electricity network of the building is not overloaded. We install either 3.6 kW or 11 kW Type 2 charging stations. The property’s electricity network allows for a rather high charging power but, if there are more electric cars in the network, we need to control the load by reducing the charging power.

The sockets of charging stations can also be used to heat cars

The charging stations are also equipped with a Schuko socket designed for heating the car. This means that the socket of the charging station can also be used to heat the car with a block heater. Parking spaces equipped with a charging station are thus suitable also for non-electric cars. A block heater and the charging station cannot be used at the same time, however. The charging station’s Schuko heating socket may not be used to charge your car. The Schuko socket does not support the charging current, which may lead to hazardous situations.

The charging station is equipped with an energy meter that measures the amount of electricity used in charging. We monitor the electricity consumption of each charging station for the purpose of invoicing.

The charging stations can be activated with the eParking app. See instructions on how to use the app.

We own all shared parking areas (e.g. for all residents of a block of flats or a terraced house) and the power to the charging stations in the parking area is delivered through the property’s power supply. The TA charging solution service fee is paid in addition to the regular parking space fee. See the charging service fees.

Any charging stations that differ from the TA charging solution may not be installed, as the products of different manufacturers are not compatible with regard to the property’s power control system

Temporary charging

As its name implies, the temporary charging service is a temporary solution that makes it possible to set up charging quickly and serves the residents until the Type 2 charging stations of the TA charging solution have been installed. In the temporary charging service, the structure of the heating poles of the property is altered to allow for charging electric cars. Residents need to acquire their own charging and block heater cables.

The temporary charging service is excellent for plug-in hybrid cars. The service is also adequate for the daily use of electric cars with no combustion engine. The electric car charging infrastructure is extensive and, in addition to the parking area of your own home, cars can be charged at workplaces, stores and other public charging stations. This means that the batteries of electric cars are rarely depleted. Typically, it is possible to charge your car for a long time at home or at work, so even low charging power is enough for charging the battery full.

Features of the temporary charging service:

  • Continuous charging without a timer.
  • Single-phase charging power 1.84 kW or 8 amperes.
  • Schuko socket for electric car charging or block heater.
  • No energy meter.
  • No smart power control.

A charging fee is paid in addition to the regular parking space fee. The price of the service is fixed, including both the electricity consumption and taxes. The fee is invoiced in the same manner as other parking space fees (annual invoice or e-invoice).

The temporary charging service is not a smart charging solution and the property’s power control system cannot be linked to the service. Because of this, only some of the property’s heating poles can be altered to suit the temporary charging service. The compatible poles are always determined on a case-by-case basis. Temporary charging is always subject to an agreement. The parking spaces suitable for temporary charging for which an agreement has been made are marked with an orange TA charging label.

NOTE! Safe charging is only allowed with a current of 8 amperes. You are responsible for ensuring that the charging uses a current of 8 amperes. Using higher currents is dangerous and prohibited. If a car is charged with a higher current, the resident is liable for any damages.
